Olympia Qualification 2008: Tibhar-players have their ticket for Beijing!

During the European Olympic Qualifications held in Nantes, "one of the hardest tournaments in the world" so many profesional players, several Tibhar-players ensured their place for the Olympic Games of Beijing 2008!

Patrick Chila had to tremble until the last minute to ensure his place for the Olympic Games.

The European Olympic Qualifications take place in several stages. Bojan Tokic (SLO) under TIBHAR contract managed to qualify himself for the Olympic Games right in the first stage.

Although the second stage was not quite running well for TIBHAR players, Patrick Chila (FRA) and Fedor Kuzmin (RUS) qualified themselves for the Olympic Games on the very last day.

The happiness of some people is the plight of others. Patrick Chila ensured his ticket for Beijing by winning the match against his friend and National team collegue Damien Eloi, after he conceded the first set: 4:11, 11:7, 11:7, 11:9 et 11:9.

Chila went through hell before this game. With a score of 3:11, 3:11 and 6:10 against the Serbian Aleksandar Karakasevic, Chila realised the "impossible": he managed to win the game he thought he had lost. At the end he won the match with a score of 4:3. Fedor Kuzmin slightly won against Wang Zeng YI (POL).

After winning against his team collegue Daniel Gorak (POL) with a score of 4:1 and loosing against his frined Chila, Damien Eloi's frustration was quite perfect when he lost against Fedor Kuzmin in the decisive game for the very last place for the Olympic Games.

However, he has, just like Zhenqi Barthel, a second chance to go to Beijing, and thus if he qualifies himself at the world qualifications for the Olympic Games in Budapest from May 8th to May 11th.

Elizabeta Samara from the TIBHAR lady team ensured her ticket for her first participation at Olympic Games already during the first tournament stage.
