This traditional event has progressed tremendously going from bonuses such as a simple washing machine or an envelope containing cash covering the winner's travelling fees, to a Major ITTF Pro Tour Event in 2006 where it was praized with a bonus of 100.000 USD. Later on the tournament's bonuses even reached the sum of 122.000 USD.

The newly elected president of the Slovenian Table Tennis Federation, Marjan Hribar, underlined the big importance of this tournament, saying that it is a great opportunity to promote table tennis in Slovenia, but also an excellent publicity vector for the country of Slovenia.

Slovenian's number 1 table tennis star and TIBHAR player, Bojan Tokic will be present. Belonging to the 50 best players in the world, he always manages to be the public's favorite.
Other major TIBHAR players will be present: Lucjan Blasczyk, Tiago Apolonia, Marcos Freitas and Aleksandar Karakasevic.

The ladies will be well represented by TIBHAR players Liu Jia (European Nr. 1), Zhenqi Barthel and Kristin Silbereisen (German National players), the several times crowned youth European Champion Elizabeta Samara (and one of the big hopes in Europe) as well as the young Vice-European Champion 2009, Margaryta Pesotska
