It seems that the Chinese teams are light years far away from any other nation in the world, especially when it comes to mixed competitions. Nobody will be surprised then to read that 5 Chinese pairs were present in the quarter finals, and 4 have reached the semi-finals.

But, Lubomir Pistej (TIBHAR), almost created an industrial accident.

The Slovak national and his double partner, Eva Odorova, reached the quarter finals, thus entering at the same time the club of the 8 best mixed pairs of the world. This represents a real defy for China, when you consider that the Slovak Republic only counts 5,4 million inhabitants, where China counts one billion. Simply breathtaking!!

Free from any pressure, Pistej and Odorova played in a great manner against Zhang Chao / Yao Yun. Leading 2 to 1, lying back 2 to 3 they managed to equalize 3 to 3. Finally the top favorite Chinese won the decisive set on a score of 11 to 7.

4:3 (6:11, 13:11, 6:11, 11:5, 11:7, 9:11, 11:7)

During the men doubles, TIBHAR stars Lucjan Blaszczyk (Poland) and Marcos Freitas (Portugal) with their double partners respectively lost against Chen Qi / Wang Hao and Ma Long / Xu Xin.

The German National players Kristin Silbereisen and Zhenqi Barthel (TIBHAR) followed the same paths as their sponsor collegues.
